Melts in your Mac, not in your hand
Monday 20 March 2006
According to a thread on MacRumors, the current XP install doesn’t include a fan driver, which means your Mac’s fan never goes on and could cause overheating issues.
I gotta say, as a hater of MacHeads (or iDiots) that that is friggin’ hilarious. So you spend $1,300 on a shiny new Intel iMac and, while basking in the oh-so hip irony of using Windows on a Mac (quel scandal!) you burn out the Dual Core.
That’s what I call – BURNED! Thanks Kelso.
If I’m going to plunk down dough for a Mac, it’s going to be because I don’t want Windows. I can run Windows just fine for less money and still have the ability to blow air through the box.
One last thought… maybe it wasn’t the cats. Maybe the MacBook Pro fire was caused by running XP. (Just kidding… the FireWire came before the dual boot)
